VSIMS - Placement Process

The campus recruitment process at VSIMS is handled by the Career Development Cell (CDC) office along with the Student Placement Committee. Apart from placements, CDC also organizes various industry connect programmes for student betterment.

The main objective of the placement process is to identify talented individuals who meet the criteria set by the companies. The selection process typically includes the following stages:

The average package is 5 to 7 lakhs and highest is 10 to 13 lakhs.

Companies conduct presentations to introduce themselves, roles available, and the company culture.
Students submit their resumes, highlighting relevant skills, experiences, and achievements.
Companies shortlist candidates based on resumes and, in some cases, preliminary aptitude/technical tests.
Shortlisted candidates participate in aptitude tests, group discussions, and interviews.
Companies make job offers to successful candidates, who then have the option to accept or decline.
The final placement process usually involves companies visiting the campus as per their respective slots, and candidates participate irrespective of their prior work experience.

Internship

Internship is a compulsory course requirement of the two-year MBA Programme. Every student of the course is expected to work in the industry for a period of two months.

The purpose of the internship is to give students an opportunity to apply management concepts learned during the first year to a live project, so that they can better understand and analyze real world business problems. The internship also serves to give students a flavor of the industry they are working in, which helps them in taking decisions about their long-term career paths, while also giving firms a chance to evaluate candidates in a more relaxed environment and find the right fit for their firms.

Placement

During the final placements process, students are recruited for permanent, full-time positions with various firms and all students are allowed to apply, regardless of whether they have prior work experience or not. The final placement process takes place at the end of the 2 year course.

Members from companies interact with students on campus through Business Thought Leadership Sessions, Guest Lectures, Live Projects, and other Corporate Forums.

The companies conduct Pre-Placements Talks to give in-depth information about them including the roles and profiles being offered.

Placement season generally starts by the end of third semester of the course while it may also start in fourth semester if not early.

Students have found roles as Functional Consultants, Business Analysts, Market Research Analysts, Data Analysts, Digital Marketing & Social Media Analysts, Marketing Analysts, Financial Analysts, Financial Modelling across IT & ITes, Financial Services, Automotive, Banking, and Manufacturing sectors among other sectors.
